Freestyle Moguls & Dual Moguls

Moguls Competition in Valmalenco

Freestyle at the Valmalenco Bernina Ski Resort is not just a discipline: it is an acrobatic specialty that has found here one of its most recognised settings at both national and international level.

Thanks to the work of the “Snow Eagle” Ski Club, the valley has, over the years, become a key reference for moguls competitions, hosting top-level events and welcoming some of the best athletes on the international scene.

Training and competing in Valmalenco means doing so on slopes that have written important chapters in the history of modern freestyle.

Organization, Competitions and Major Hosted Events

For nearly 20 years, the “Snow Eagle” Ski Club has played an active and widely recognised role in the development of freestyle disciplines, not only from a sporting perspective but also from an organisational one, transforming the ski area into a permanent stage for high-level Freestyle, Moguls and Snowboard competitions.

The Valmalenco Bernina Ski Resort has hosted numerous editions of the FIS World Cup, Junior World Championships and prestigious international competitions, with more than fifteen years of official events included in the FIS calendars.

This continuity has made it possible to develop strong technical expertise, organizational capabilities and in-depth knowledge of the Freestyle, Snowboard and Moguls disciplines – elements that today represent a defining feature of the entire area.

Freestyle and SBX World Championships and World Cups

From 2008 to today, the Valmalenco ski area has hosted over 40 official FIS snowboard and freestyle ski competitions, welcoming athletes, technical teams and staff from over 30 countries, with thousands of participants and event personnel overall.

The following competitions deserve special mention:

  • FIS World Cup Big Air (2016, 2017), Milan.
  • FIS Snowboard Cross (SBX) World Cup (2012, 2021).
  • FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup – Dual Moguls (2022, 2023, 2024).
  • FIS Junior World Championships – Freestyle Ski & Snowboard: Aerials, Moguls, Dual Moguls, Team events, SBX (more than 10 championships, most recently in 2024).
  • Numerous official Italian and European FIS competitions since 2008.

A Legacy that Becomes Training and Inclusion

The experience gained in organising major ski competitions does not remain limited to events, but is also transferred into the Ski Club’s training activities.

Training sessions, camps and development programs for children and teenagers stem directly from this sporting legacy, allowing younger athletes to approach Moguls & Dual Moguls in a serious, safe and stimulating environment.

Within this framework, the Snow Eagle Ski Club promotes an open and inclusive vision of sport, with particular attention to athletes with disabilities through programs, equipment and training methods adapted to different needs. The aim is to offer everyone the opportunity to experience the mountains and sport in an active way, respecting individual pace, abilities and potential.

Here, young athletes grow on the very slopes that have hosted champions and international competitions, experiencing the discipline in an authentic and progressive way, in an environment that values individual abilities and places the person at the centre, even before the athlete.

Moguls Today in Valmalenco

Today, Valmalenco continues to be a vibrant hub for Moguls & Freestyle: a place where sporting tradition meets the future, where the Ski Club works each season to maintain a high technical level, support young talents and promote a spectacular and formative discipline.

Moguls are not just a competition, but a way of experiencing the snow, the mountains and the spirit of the sport.
And in Valmalenco, this vision comes to life every winter.
